When I was around 13, my mom was arguing with my dad and sister, and I decided to speak up bravely in front of my dad. Well… he slapped me 😂. I think that slap made me scared of people’s reactions, so now I have to be careful and study their personalities before I feel comfortable around them.
Another time with my dad, I wanted him to pick me up from school, but the school guard wouldn’t let me leave with him and told my dad that I was supposed to take the bus. I waited forever at school, then I called my brother, and he came to pick me up. When I got home, I told my dad, “Why were you late?” He got mad and was like, “Just take the bus and stop bothering me!” And when I argued back… boom, another slap 🥸.
And yeah, another one… I was fighting with my little brother in the backseat of the car, making a lot of noise. My dad got so pissed that he stopped the car in the middle of the street, got out, opened the back door, yelled at us, and—you guessed it—slapped me again 🥸🤨.
I’m 100% sure these slaps had a huge impact on my life. My childhood was socially rough, and my confidence was at an all-time low. But when I hit my teenage years, I started watching self-improvement videos and reading books. Now, in high school, I’m the most energetic person in class, super popular, funny as hell, and everyone loves me!
