Struggling to embrace my emotions & actually express them…

figured this would be a good subreddit to post this in just to get some other perspectives and get to know how others deal with this. I feel like I used to be so expressive verbally/emotionally but after being hurt so much, I just find it hard to do so. it definitely stems from the fear of being vulnerable, but the thing is, there are times where I WANT to be. so so badly but I just can’t get myself to get those thoughts out. I just want to express these things better and more often to my loved ones. anyone else who’s gone through this same thing have any advice on how to overcome this?
