I’m from Australia so things may not make complete sense to others around the world however you’ll get the gist. I’ve just finished with my second year of university at the end of last year, and going into my third year this year. I feel like I’m generally academically smart however the way university teaches definitely doesn’t fit my learning style. It’s very much talking and writing it down without much ‘action’. I learn from doing instead of writing everything down, meaning my grades haven’t been the best. I failed 1 of my 4 units at the end of my first year making the whole thing that bit more stressful.
Fast forward to today and I receive an email saying my education at university has been terminated, meaning I’ve failed another unit. I feel distraught, obviously not knowing what to do or who to tell. It feels like there’s no way to get into a good paying job now or anything. University debt is no joke and that just adds to the whole thing. How the hell do you work around any of this? Is there any way to get into a decent job or make money without being stuck in a shitty full time job paying minimal wage that you hate? I don’t know how to tell my parents or my girlfriend. My girlfriend is very set on the fact you have to go to university and now this..
