Is the tourist tax something you’d participate in were some wealthy to do foreigners to show up and try to consume your culture?

Many places I’ve been to have warnings attached to them by travelers who have either first hand or first person experience with the little extra charges and redundant cultural buy-ins that accompany many of the attractions on and off the beaten paths thereabout.

If someone came to your country with a conversion rate in their favor such that their currency’s highest denomination translated into your entire life’s savings, would you participate in gentle hazing, scamming, taking advantage of them for fun and profit?

I kinda think it’s funny when it happens to me or others, and I would probably participate in it myself, but in the kinda way where after you pass through all my arbitrary tests and games you actually do get something special. Whether that’s me showing you something unique that even my neighbors don’t know or understand, or sharing a meal or atleast a proper gongfu tea sesh together.
