I hate how engineering turned into a high paying and lucrative degree to a useless one

In America at least, there are way too many engineering graduates produced each year compared to the number of jobs. STEM degrees are becoming as useless as liberal arts degree, and I wish there was a better system of putting people in jobs instead of just pursue what pays the most right now. In 10 years, we will deal with an oversupply of people in the trades
