Why isn't anyone working on this?

Ok, identified, people don't want to work for someone else. Yes they have the option to start their own but at this level of saturation with a bunk economy it's probably not even possible... That being said, whenever something like this has come up people start "working on it" like, figuring out alternatives and concocting scenarios to find a way to do it where everyone benefits and it works and nothing collapses and such... Why is no one working on getting away from employment based survival? Are we really so constricted by our history and societal norms that we are no longer able to think beyond them? What happened to the great minds out there? What happened to the theorists? Why does this society now resemble more a well trained dog than anyone with big thoughts and ambitions and ideas??
