Why do we keep pretending we have everything figured out?

1 month ago 28

Had this moment at dinner with friends last night. Everyone was talking about their 5-year plans, career goals, relationship timelines... all so confident and certain.

And I'm sitting there thinking: are we all just pretending? Because I have no clue what I'm doing most days, and I'm starting to think maybe that's normal.

Maybe we're all just making it up as we go, and somewhere along the way we decided that was something to be ashamed of.

The funny thing is, the moment I admitted 'I honestly don't know what I'm doing' - two friends immediately went 'oh thank god, me neither.'

Maybe it's time we normalized not having it all figured out. Because honestly? None of us really do.
