Who is your literary canon?

5 hours ago 5

Literature can shape a whole nations culture and identity, and it can do the same to a person as well just like all art forms. I want to know who your literary canon is. I’ll start with mine in order.

  1. Mary Shelley
  2. Edgar Allan Poe
  3. Charlotte Brontë
  4. Emily Brontë
  5. JRR Tolkien
  6. Toni Morrison
  7. Vladimir Nabokov
  8. Franz Kafka
  9. Jorge Luis Borges
  10. Jane Austen
  11. Emily Dickinson
  12. Homer
  13. Shakespeare
  14. Margret Atwood
  15. Herman Melville
  16. Kazuo Ishiguro
  17. Kurt Vonnegut
  18. Fyodor Dostoyevsky
  19. Leo Tolstoy
  20. Virginia Woolf

These are the authors who shaped who I am and I consider these authors to be my literary canon if that makes sense. What authors make your own personal canon?
