When you are young you think about what you are going to when you get old. When you are old you think about when you were young.

When I was young, I wanted to be a lot of things. Lots of expectations. I never expected life though and did a lot of things. Most were not part of the original expectations. The things I think back on were fantastic. I can’t help but be nostalgic about them. As I get older (not old 41, just older) I find it hard to be optimistic about the future but I realized that it’s hard to be optimistic about my expectations. I then realized that just about anything I expected didn’t happen or happened differently than I expected. Life is a wild ride. I think I’m going to pay less attention to my expectations and focus on and enjoy whatever is happening. Anyone have any thoughts on this or experience anything like it? I’d love to hear your angle.
