When did this whole 'your a bot cause we disagree with you' nonsense got out of control?

I've notice and it happened to me in a gaming sub being temporary banned for mods assuming I was a bot after making a mistake of not crediting a video as I didn't and still don't know how and figured it was pretty obvious as it said in the video title when you first click play where the video came from: Do people NOT know how to read?

and it seems it's pretty common now for those that disagree with the narrative to be accused of being 'bots' now while the real crap goes untouched as on the same sub I see a lot of recycled content which I highly questioned as most of it isn't actually that interesting though there are some posts that are unique but they too don't get as much noticed and quickly get buried.
