What happened to the “FEMA Camps” ?

I remember a decade ago YouTube ran rampant with conspiracy videos about FEMA camps. Allegedly Obama had had them built to prepare for the typical reasons .(Armageddon, Illuminati, or whatever doomsday flavor you could find ) I also remember a lot of talk about the governments purchase of hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition. Then as of the last 8 years that’s all kinda just disappeared ( at least from my own narrow view) Does anyone have any even semi-conclusive evidence as to whether these camps ever existed or if it was all just b.s.? Any sources or insight would be engaging and appreciated.
