“Trending” news headlines are not really trending at all when you consider the fact that all social media sites have a significant amount of bots/fake accounts embedded into their user base that can manipulate algorithms to make it look like said news headlines are trending.

If millions of a.i. bots/fake accounts are clicking, sharing and commenting on news articles that are supposedly trending on social media, then those headlines are not actually trending at all — and social media algorithms are just being manipulated to trick real users into believing that every top story that they’re reading about is trending.

Now let me give you all an example of how this could work…

Let’s say that I’m the DNC, and that I need to convince my liberal fan base that VP Kamala Harris is popular enough to beat Donald Trump in a presidential election. All I’d have to do is have a few established democratic politicians come out and voice their support for Kamala, which in turn, would spawn a few pro-Kamala news articles. Then I would just deploy my massive bot farm to upvote, comment and flood the internet with those said pro-Kamala articles as a means to manipulate social media algorithms and trick real people into believing that Kamala is popular enough to beat Trump in a Presidential election.

Now I’m just using Kamala as an example here, and we all saw how unpopular she really was based on the results of the election. Just imagine though how this theory has impacted everything else that is going on in the world today. Wars, genocides, government’s manufacturing consent to send military aid to other countries to support their proxy wars against their geo-political enemies. Sound familiar?

Long story short, we are living in dangerous times and the outlook is becoming very bleak. Especially now that AI technology is starting to take over. The best thing for one to do at this point is to turn off the news.
