The Matrix franchise was forced to backpedal so hard to quiet people back down.

I'll keep this brief but in short I believe the film The Matrix(1999) hit WAY too close to the mark, revealing that in fact the world around us is a carefully calculated lie. Government, media, religion all work to enslave us in a very controlled system designed to appear as the "normal world."

My conspiracy is I believe the powers that be moved in really quickly to steer this franchise away from creating any more of this messaging.

And you can watch as suddenly the following films become a muddled mess of nonesense and contradictions.

"Oh actually just kidding what we previously said wasn't really true and in fact it all turns out to be the opposite!" Ok. Right.

Further they made ANOTHER sequel that only drives the point home further as they continue to subvert the red pill narrative so to speak by labeling it as nonesense, recasting Morpheus and essentially labeling him a joke.

Now machines are our friends and we are not trapped in anything it's all a matter of perception...or something. The films are a mess and it's completly on purpose.
