So many people are focused on status and money.

I've noticed this with friends and family to the point where it’s hard to believe most people aren't like this. You have to search long and hard to find those rare few who aren’t. It’s not about being rich or poor—both groups fall into it. Wealthy people can become arrogant, selfish, and exclusive, forming relationships based on whether the other person can match or surpass their material status. On the other hand, those with less can become desperate and opportunistic, only seeking relationships with those who can provide what they feel entitled to.

Why does it seem so rare to find people who truly value connection, meaningful conversation, and camaraderie? I dream of escaping to some perfect place, but I also know that it likely doesn't exist, so the answer must lie within. I’m grateful for the few people I know who aren’t like this—or who haven’t fallen into it yet.
