For context, this year I got into UCSC and SFSU and I really want to move out of my toxic house so community college is off the table. For both schools I got a good financial aid package so now the question is which school do I choose. I'm torn because I know the education level at UCSC is better considering my major in computer engineering, but I don't really see myself living in Santa Cruz for 4 years. I have always been a night life city type of person and I used to live in San Francisco before I moved for high school so I am familiar with the city and really enjoy what it's like. Friends from UCSC also have told me that the school is really secluded so it's hard to get internships nearby and the job market is hard considering it's a small town. Although, friends from SFSU have told me that the engineering program is good but nowhere near the level of UC's. Also to mention, recently a lot of people in my family are telling me how lucky I am to be even considered by a UC (I am from an immigrant latino family so opportunities like this is pretty uncommon) which leads me to feel ungrateful if I don’t take the opportunity. I am really torn and would appreciate some outside opinions!
