My son wants me to make his college choice

I have a 15 year old son who is a high school sophomore...he's a really good kid...he gets good grades, is respectful, kind, & basically embodies all the good things you'd want your child to possess...he's also an excellent high school football player...he's already rated top 5 at his position regardless of class...a month ago he received his first scholarship offer & has received 2 more since...needless to say we are very happy with his progress & support him fully...I've have been totally involved in his athletic development since he was a little boy & we are extremely close...because of the offers and all the subsequent correspondence i sat him down a couple evenings ago & asked him how he wanted to proceed with all the college stuff...my son tells me that when it comes to where he will go to school he's leaving the decision completely up to me and will go wherever I think is best...I was completely taken aback with this & proceeded to impress upon him the importance of this decision & how impactful it will be for his future & that it should be a choice he makes...no matter how much I tell him this he remains insistent that I make the choice for him...I'm very uncomfortable with this & am a bit confused with how to move forward regarding the issue...I just don't want to do this & then have him blame me if things don't go as planned
