'Killer' Clowns of 2016

I am sure we are all aware of the clowns in 2016 that started popping up out of nowhere, but does anyone actually know anyone who dressed up and participated in this trend?

I would love to interview someone anonymously about their participation if anyone is willing to speak up. I believe for the most part it was likely innocent and people taking advantage of the scary trend, but would love to hear it directly from the horses mouth.
