So many people say stop worrying about society and just focus on yourself, but it just hurts when yourself is rejected by the world. In high school, I never got to play sports. I couldn't pass tryouts. I still wonder all the memories I could have made from practices, games, and so on. I wonder what pride I could have felt earning a varsity letter.
And I experienced rejection many times in adulthood. In college, I got rejected from the engineering clubs like rocketry and DBF. I got rejected from the fraternities. I got disqualified from the military due to health issues. It sucks I am basically forced to have a basic life due to my own failings.
