Is this a normal reaction to have?

So I live with my grandma and she's getting older and progressively worse in health and I realized why men want families because at the end of the day. It's depressing knowing there's going to be one no who loves you when you open up that door coming home from work or whatever. It hit me, men need a place to come home to with kids or step kids. I understood family is a communal thing. It keeps a man strong and it keeps him inspired. It's a group of people who ya know love you. And damn did it hit as a 26 year old man I suddenly understand why women and kids were important for a man.
