Is our world as we know it doomed?

From the severe ignorance shown by the masses, to the extreme corruption shown at the government and corporate levels, I dont think theres any way out of this mess of a society that we find ourselves in, other than a subsequent dark age and renaissance the likes of which hasnt been reported since the fall of the Roman Empire. Our grandchildren and several generations past are probably in for hell tbh. Nothing I have seen in the news or in personal anecdotes/bodycam videos/real life bullshit the last few years, has provided any confidence in humanity as a whole to keep the status quo so to speak. I dont know what it will look like but it certainly appears we are at a downturn in the evolution of humanity and the mind. Corporations basically run everything in first world countries. Advertisements, misinformation, and downright propaganda are already permeating our society and its only going to get worse. To me I feel it started in the early to mid 20th centuries with the world wars. That was a sign. Pipe dreams and pure confidence fueled the economies of the 60s, 70s.. while delusion, corruption, ignorance, and contentment began to overtake the human mindset in the 80s and into the 90s. The internets relatively rapid rise to vitality, before the human mind could truly evolve and society could learn to wield such powers, has become a severe detriment to mental health and even basic human rights. Once again I reiterate, we are facing a modern day Roman collapse on a GLOBAL scale. "Third world countries" will probably be spared most of this fate and be the first to rise in the coming enlightenment period centuries down the line.
