I believe heaven is impossible but that hell could be very real. My reasoning is that it seems impossible to be aware of one’s own existence in eternal paradise without noticing the seams and watching it come crumbling down like a poorly maintained attraction at Disney World. Do I get to be an important public figure respected and admired by all? How do I know they’re not faking it?
Hell, on the other hand, feels more tangible. Knowing you’re in hell doesn’t make it any less real. Despair is just the compound interest our misery collects.
