Is it okay if I keep my life goals a secret

I (20M) recently came to the conclusion that me telling people about my life goals can be very draining, because the more I talk about them, the more I don't actually put in the effort to achieve those goals. I regret not keeping them to myself sooner in life, but I can't do anything about it now.

I know that people are still going to ask me questions like what I want to be in the future and stuff like that, so I'm going to answer their questions with just, "I'm looking at something in particular", and, "I have my eyes on something". These answers will (or might) give them hints that I do indeed have something in mind, but don't want to specifically tell them about the goals.

I know most of you guys won't relate to this at all, but I just don't want to tell everyone about my business, I just want to keep it silent and keep it moving. So is it really okay with me doing this? Because I really want to know.
