Is being ignorant really that bad?

4 hours ago 3

I feel like we're kind of expected to know about anything and everything today when it comes to politics, wars, trends, stuff like that but it's exhausting to say the least. I used to have a really "progressive/feminist taken to extreme" type of thinking when I was 15 up until I was around 18 then I had a small period where I was more conservative and I used to read news daily about Palestine, Ukraine, pollution, rights etc. and that just contributed to my my already negative thinking and made me feel doomed and now I'm just basically in the middle and I just don't care that much, I guess? I mean I do what I can to help when I can but that's basically it and I don't even touch media about politics or problems that are much bigger than myself. The only time when I read something about politics is around election so I know who's the least bad option but otherwise I just focus on myself and people around me in real life and this applies to social media too since I deleted most of my accounts, I don't know whatever tik tok phrase is trending or what someone with a big following has done that's controversial and I do feel more at peace like that but sometimes I feel like that just makes me ignorant.
