i think i’m getting a little bored of the ‘cool girl’ or more aptly put ‘mentally ill’ genre

can someone describe what genre the books below might be considered? i feel like they were a whole lot of nothing. and people go crazy for these books but i don’t know if i’m cool enough to understand the hype. it’s stoic, rambling prose that typically ends with some moral ambiguity that’s supposed to move the reader but it’s become kind of trite and gimmicky.
