Especially with the rise of social media. This is a complicated vaguely understood concept so I may not be able to explain it very well. But the way our brains interact with the vast amount of images and sounds and ideas we see has really adjusted the way people talk and think in normal life. I think phones have become literally this symbiotic thing. Before it was a tool and then it became a worry and now I'm seeing that it is actually becoming like a sort of like an organ.
And it's so interesting because you see all these influences and it's controlled by algorithms and these algorithms are further programming our behavior and perceptions.
It's like how TV was before phones but it's now just a next step. I just feel like I'm witnessing it and I'm sure many others are.
And also with that comes the paradigm of corporate controlled conformity. What is allowed to be said, what's the trending opinion. Who gets the most favoritism. Who are you allowed to be. What comments aren't you allowed to say. What they decide can be censored. And it's all creating who we're becoming. There are people who are allowed to express their opinions, and those who aren't. And so this is the way that the trajectory of humanity Is headed and I would rather just keep my distance.
And the fact that a lot of us are getting lonely and being isolated with these devices, it sort of makes it kind of like a snowball effect. A copy paste behavioral imprinting system. It's kinda wild man, kinda wild. Just look at the icon for Instagram, it's like an eye to a colorful vortex that you get lost in.
