going to a bar alone

i’m wanting to go to a laid back bar to listen to some music and have a drink however, i’d be going by myself. i do everything alone but this is one thing i’ve never done because one, im a 22 y/o woman, and also i don’t want to look/be lonely. i know all the comments are going to be “just go!”, “no one cares”, etc. but it’s easier said than done. i live in a college town so it’s like everyone goes out to the bar with friends and it would be even more embarrassing if i saw someone i kind of knew and just sat there by myself. i don’t know. i’m a super open person but missing out on enjoying my life even if it’s doing things alone is tough. any advice, thoughts, recommendations would be appreciated!
