From where to start with Carson McCullers?

Any recommendations from where to start with her works?

I'm used to read only male authors Tolstoy, Jack London, Steinbeck etc and obviously there are great female authors that I really miss out there. Names like Emily Brontë, Jane Austen and Virginia Woolf come to mind but I'm feeling that I'm not yet in a position to read them. So Carson McCullers comes to mind because she wrote about loneliness and isolation, and her tragic life story and struggles with alcoholism makes her more appealing to me for some reason. I have a strong inner feeling that she should be the one before I get to the others. So from where to start?
