I'm into board games and one of the nice things about the website BoardGameGeek is that every game has its own set of forums so every game, no matter how obscure, has a dedicated place to discuss it. Usually, there's some prior discussion you can look at, and if you post, there are usually some people subscribed to the forums (including often the designer of the game) and they'll come and reply.
Is there anything similar like this for books? I know I've had the feeling, and I'm sure others have, of having finished a more obscure or older book and not having anyone to talk about it with. The closest thing I've seen is Goodreads but it seems like the closest to forums there is leaving reviews or comments on reviews, and I don't think there's a way to subscribe to updates for specific books like BGG. I think it would be a really nice feature if it doesn't exist (and maybe I'll take it into my own hands if it doesn't).
