Conspiracy Theory: the NWO started a long time ago

The main defining characteristics of the NWO are the unification of church and state, and unified world government (not microchips). Both have already occurred.

Unification of church and state: Roman emperor declared himself Christian and, more importantly, also head of the church. Head of the world empire (as claimed by him at the time) is also head of the empire's religion.

Unified world government: the empire was declared to be the world's empire, meaning that the 'world' as it was known had one government. To this day the Vatican still exerts monumental influence and is viewed, especially by people branded as conspiracy theorists, as a true though unofficial seat of power over world affairs, to which many heads of state report and submit. Power is power.

This is the arrangement under which we are already living, and since people are led to believe 'it' has not yet begun, they will fight to maintain the current status quo, thus keeping it in place. Why would microchips specifically be needed to start this or any 'order', as if until that's in place it can't progress? What would stop it? What has ever stopped anything?

RE: tracking, almost everyone has a doorbell/ security camera, or cell phone, and even if you don't, someone in your immediate vicinity does.
