Hi everyone, I have some unpopular thoughts and I'm here to see if anyone agrees.
Recently, I was interested in Emmanuel Macron since he's one of the very few world leaders stepping up in the current Ukraine situation. As a conservative myself, I was quite disappointed that Trump was taking an isolationist approach for the US that could have dire consequences for global geopolitics and Ukraine. I was also happy to see the EU re-unite and come together, this hasn't happened since a very long time.
Amidst all this, I came across Candace Owens, I have seen her content from time to time but this time, she made a podcast about Brigitte Macron being trans. Curious, I went through the whole thing wondering if there was any actual evidence. Now, the thing is that, some of her arguments make sense, some don't, but I can believe this since 1. Brigette is 70 rn, and trans surgeries weren't even a thing when she was younger and 2. We don't have evidence, even the Poussard interview relies on a Chinese facial recognition software and honestly, this is not reliable at all. Also, lawsuits from the Macrons is expected cause if I were the prime minister and someone started taking shit about my personal life, I would hunt them down. And why would I answer a random American YouTuber's 21 question list- do I have nothing else to do as a president- I'd just let my lawyers do whatever.
Now, all this aside. I decided to personally reflect this: Do I care if Brigette is a man or an alien or a puppy? No. Do I care that they met when Macron was 15? No, cause, honestly, they have had a successful marriage for almost 20 years. Macron seems to be happy. Bruh, he's 50 and the president. He would've divorced Brigette long ago if he wasn't happy or something. You can't be a president, as articulate as Macron and be brainwashed when you're 50. People are not that naive. Also, who am I to judge the two people who both seem happy? As far as the president does his job, I couldn't care less about his bedroom life.
So, the next question was: why is Candace doing this? Macron is already hated a lot by the French people. I like him but I get it, people usually hate the politicians in their country because there is so much scope to do more, valid. But, Candace makes this out to be such a scandalous story and I'm like, but even if what Candace is saying is true (which, really, there seems to be no concrete evidence), why does this matter? This was thing in France years ago. Why bring it back? And why now? Why try to de-stabalise the French for no reason? Why does this transvestigation seem like a distraction from the very real topic at hand: Ukraine.
Why is Macron facing slander when the EU is trying to come together? Why is Brett Cooper not criticizing Trump at all? I honestly preferred the right versus left (don't come at me!) but even so, as someone based in the UK, I really was disappointed in how the US is functioning since its isolationist approach is not beneficial to the rest of the world. But, as a right-wing-YouTube-geek, I still tried watching my favourites on YouTube. But, no, Brett Cooper and Amala Ekpunobi, both did not criticse Trump at all. Come on, at all? And then, we have Candace doing these random transvestigations? Bruh, wtf? I was so disappointed.
Maybe I'm not articulating myself correctly, but does anyone else feel like the right-wing media has become as polarised at the left now? And that no one is covering real issues like Ukraine/Canada etc. Seeing this, I'm sure the Chinese govt is also now motivated to invade Taiwan, because no one seems to focus on how unconstitutional it is to take over countries? And even asking this is faced with a lot of slander. Am I missing something? Does anyone feel the same?
I feel so disappointed. I used to look up to all 3 of them as amazing, political commentators. But, I really feel like something is very off. I can't shake off this feeling. Even as a person, Candace, randomly marrying a dude from another country in 2 weeks etc. Are these really the people I want to look up to? Honestly, I wish to take a break from YouTube and just read some newspapers now.
