Birthday

I don't usually have people coming to my birthday since people just usually forget about it but this year was different and people were actually looking forward for a party sa i prepared some food even though i didn't get to eat most of it. It was still fun. Is it normal for the person with the birthday to not eat some of the food in their birthday?
