Are we ever going to get a moment of peace or should I operate under the assumption that the next 5-10 years will be nothing but one catastrophe after another?

I love this subreddit, I actually use it as a news source when a post has high enough upvotes and proves to be grounded rationally. But lately, with the drones, the lies, the sudden outbreak in China, the list goes on and on. It's insanity and I feel like I'm never going to see a moment where the world is just at peace...am I being neurotic or should I just expect the worst?
