The term “alcohol” and “spirits” isn't just coincidence, it’s deeply spiritual, and disturbingly accurate. The word al-kuhl comes from Arabic roots, meaning “body-eating spirit” or “the essence of a thing.” In ancient alchemy, alcohol was used to extract the essence from substances, the spirit within. So when you consume alcohol, you’re literally taking in a distilled spirit, but not the kind that uplifts.
It lowers your vibration, removes inhibitions, and opens the door to spiritual influence and possession. That’s why it’s called “under the influence.” It makes you more vulnerable to dark entities, just like sorcery or pharmakeia. In fact, the Greek word for sorcery in Revelation is “pharmakeia,” the same root for pharmaceuticals and poisons. Alcohol has always been used in rituals to weaken the soul’s defenses and invite in something else.
They don’t call it “spirits” for nothing. You’re not just getting drunk, you’re opening a portal.
