What’s more fulfilling, regular small adventures or one large adventure?

In terms of entertainment and experiences, do you think it’s better to:

1) Do small to medium activities such as a nice dinner or new event, go to a nearby town, etc. every 1 ~ 2 weeks to keep things varied (About $50 - $100 a week) or a few hundred every so often for slightly larger excursions.

2) Live frugally for most of the year, rarely eat out or do things and avoid buying new stuff very often, and have the weeks blend into each other BUT go on one extravagant dream trip each year (~$5000) - Think Egypt, Greece, Italy, etc. for about 10 days and see things no one else gets to see.

3) Something else

Let’s assume you have roughly $5000 ~ in cash that you can dedicate each year for this prospect

Context: I am introverted and have recently started having fun with small activities that new friends have invited me to and it sort of makes me want to enjoy more random every day stuff, but it would be at the expense of my usual large trips. Those trips tend to be the only thing that make my job worth doing and give me something to look forward to, but I’m not sure anymore if having the other 50 weeks of your life be tedious is the right trade-off.

But I have also travelled to 9 countries and every one of those trips has been very meaningful and given me experiences that many people never have.

I’m also slowly going blind so I kinda want to see things as much as possible while I can, but whether it’s my situation or your own, what do you think?
