What is literature

What would you regard to be literature? In any eyes it could be any book or any paper that has ever been written, since it is all written with a thought to be written. Where do you cross the line? I don't cross a line since that would mean that I could be disregarding comics even though some might have some deeper philosophical meaning, right? I'm not sure what it is, but the more I think the less I know. What is literature? What do you see for it to be? And no, I don't want a textbook meaning of what literature might be, as I could search that up. I want your "opinion" on the meaning of literature.
