I’m looking for a novel or memoir with a theme of travel and adventure in a similar way to Dharma Bums, The Beach, Travels with Charley, or Roughing It. I generally connect with stories centered around a journey journeys taken by choice for the sake of exploration and self reflection.
I’ve read everything by Colin Fletcher, I wish Tony Horwitz might have had more time to write, and I’ve exhausted everything (including podcasts) about Ernest Shackleton and his ilk.
The themes of these stories and the works of these writers enchant me but I’m craving something very new and very modern. Who are the recently published dirtbaggers?
