Through what vocations could I undeniably “better the world”?

This moral dilemma is one I have wrestled with my whole life.

Some vocations I think are probably pretty squarely making the world a better place: cancer research, pure scientific research, construction, worker, plumber, chef, a religious leader (one who is actually good, not one who gets involved in scandals), anyone working at an addiction recovery center or behavioral health center, doctor, anyone working for a hospital, most engineers, if your engineering something that benefits society or the world, software engineer if you are making an application that helps people Tutor, professor, scientist

Some things that don’t better the world: gang leader, druglord, lawyer for an evil corporation, thief, robber , lying salesman
