The mainstream Diddy stuff is obscuring the fact that his crimes and worse are commonplace and customary in the industry

Speaking specifically about online and media discourse around Sean Combs’ numerous lawsuits.

People are using the word “Diddy” or “freak off” to be a catchall for various shady things that go down in the industry. While I think it’s cool it’s out there more, and not relegated to gossip and Boondocks skits. I can’t help but note people aren’t seeing that he is one of many; this isn’t new or limited to him; he was probably taught/groomed/“jumped” into a lot of it.

I also hate the lack of distinction: him being a freak, or being closeted gay/bi/pan is not criminal or evil; all the other shit is.

Makes me think he’s a fall guy? while bigger suits regroup? Actually all the stuff that’s happened lately, from Katt Williams’ Shannon Sharpe interview at the start of the year to the child star documentaries to now, reeks of calculation. (Mind you, calculations can involve real-life happenings, and how best to control narratives.) I am happy that victims are finding routes to justice and maybe healing, all the while.

I think there is a restructuring of the musik industry happening. A changing of the guard. ? Too many people know too much now because of the Internet, so they’ve got to be figuring some shit out. I predict Jay-Z will fall next. All the while some other guys whose names I don’t even know will never be mentioned.

Pls don’t downvote me to hell. I don’t see a lot of entertainment industry stuff being discussed here. But I didn’t know where else to post it.
