starting the new year sober

I came to visit my sober friend who lives her sober life so I wouldn't do drugs on new years eve. I know if I had remained in my home town I would be drunk and high right now. It took me coming to a whole nother country to get away from that "party life". I could have said no or stayed home but I know I would have given in to peer pressure. Today I go to bed early after eating indian food and watching fireworks at the top of a hill. And today I know that this is what the deepest depths of my heart desires. Tranquillity. And today I know that I want to go in to 2025 sober and to stay sober.
