From a K-drama and inspired Instagram post...
We all fancy being somebody special, a person who is recognized and celebrated and admired. The thing is, though, not everybody can turn out that way, you know the conventional notion of "special." Perhaps, the true purpose of life doesn't have to do anything with fame and riches but to live life to the fullest. And by "living life to the fullest" I do not mean pursuing money and success. Rather, I am talking about healthy, happy, comfortable living.
Just look at the world of social media where there is comparison and sometimes competition on nearly every other post. Here, one develops an urge to stand out and constantly compares to others. This brings upon feelings of inadequacy as one is held in a cycle of not feeling enough-be it not being pretty or confident or accomplished enough. These words from Seok Ryu, "Just find what's valuable to you in your life, that's enough" hit me right in the feels. It's essential to recognize that we each have one life, and what matters most is living it without the burden of insecurity.
So, let us appreciate the little things-a good family, friends, and the opportunity to care for each other. Let's enjoy being healthy, generous, and all that makes life easy. It is not mighty accomplishments that make a satisfied life; it's in the ordinary, simple pleasures: sharing laughter over dinner with friends, a simple meal, a weekend, or even a small vacation.
We are not special, yet we all bring unique perspectives into our world. Kind heart, beautiful mind, helping one another glow, at not just the successful times but through those not so beautiful moments in between, find beauty in the mundane-the richness of our lives and love. Ultimately, it's about leading a good life-one filled with connection, kindness, and joy in every small achievement.
