‘Smooth brain’ (Lissencephaly) is a spectrum of rare, genetic disorders in which the brain fails to develop its hallmark folds. Currently there are no available treatments. A new study, however, has identified a drug that prevents and reverses lissencephaly malformations in brain organoids.
