Sebastian in Brideshead Revisited

In your view, does Waugh ever give a clear opinion on what should be done to help Sebastian recover from alcoholism?

Also, do you think it's clear what moral judgement, if any, the reader is meant to make of Sebastian? In the end Cordelia describes him as a sort of saint and one of God's beloved, but this is after a whole novel in which it is made very clear just how much suffering his drinking causes some of his family members, how much it limits his ability to help others, and how it turns him into someone who must always be taken care of.
