Just look at the way basic things like healthcare, food and education are distributed. Some are born into ridiculous wealth and some into hopeless poverty. Despite our best efforts we seem absurdly incapable of correcting this situation without actually managing to make things work.
Human beings are almost unbelievably incompetent. Give most of them a million dollars and a year later they will owe ten million. They get all bent out of shape over trivial things and have great difficulty in maintaining relationships.
We exploit animals and the environment in ways that are often futile and ultimately harmful to ourselves.
We are absolutely crap and choosing leaders under any known system. We put people in charge that lead us into bloody wars that we neither desire nor understand.
We ruin our own health.
We respond positively to the most unconvincing advertisements and political propaganda.
We pay surprisingly little attention to the smartest among us while paying enormous attention to celebrities.
We make almost no effort to arrange our society in such a way as to increase the chances that the next generation will grow up in a psychologically nurturing and healthy environment.
