Since the rebirth of TikTok, there are now topics and phrases which result in “no results” when searched. A few of these banned searches include:
Anything related to the holocaust, “rigged election,” “Donald trump 10 year old” [this search without “old” works], “Proud Boys”
There are way more topics that are not on my radar yet, so please let me know of more so I can add them to the list.
Not only did they ban certain searches, but they soft banned some searches. If you try looking up info on the LA wildfires, you are met with the story from just about every news account on the platform followed by Facebook-type ai generated slop… no average human posts in sight for plenty of scrolls. Another type of soft banned search is them removing search suggestions when trying to search “banned books.”
Other suppressions include: “free Luigi” comments get immediately removed, some videos are only able to be shared with one person at a time [and you can only send them to 5 people], and way less drone content than I was seeing a few weeks ago.
