Learning to Say No

1 month ago 25

After my divorce, I realized I’d spent years saying “yes” to things that didn’t make me happy. A few weeks ago, a friend asked me to help with a project I didn’t have time for. My old self would’ve said yes out of guilt, but this time, I paused and said, “I can’t, but I hope it goes well!” It felt strange but freeing. Learning to say no has been one of the hardest lessons, but it’s also been the most empowering. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your life is protect your own time and energy.
