is it wrong to distance a friendship because they won't stop gossiping?

i have this friend and we get along well with but they love a gossip. it seemed minimal before graduation bc they had a million other people forced to hear their gossip. but after, it seems i am one of their only friends left that will listen. and at first i let them because i thought it was venting to get frustration out but lately im realizing it was always like this but IM the one getting the bulk of it. it is only about people in our class; a class of people i barely spoke to all 4 years. i thought they'd grow out of it once we werent around our class mates anymore. its gotten excessive and has become the only thing they call or text me about. ive started to distance myself from this friend but theyre making me feel bad for not being excited to talk about it. i can only have so many "that's crazy"'s and "no way"'s in me, ya know?
