Is college considered a scam as people as it is ?

I don't know if I should be listening to random people online saying how college is a scam and is not the gateway to getting rich. Your just serving yourself in a system. Being an entrepreneur and starting your own business will get you rich. I mean I don't have any business idea nor the money for it and pretty much all of my family that are successful worked regular jobs and their kids went to universities to pursue education now they are like engineers doctors and stuff. They worked hard to get where they are now but life is so much better now. They have their own house and some even started a small business. My parents keep telling me also that you need to go college but I don't know which to pick a major or industry that is relevant. Tech field is competitive and people experience layoffs. Healthcare sounds good but I'm not really into patient care. Kinda always wanted remote job or desk job because my cousins are working on a computer screen all day and have this flexibility schedule to work remotely and some days at office.
