TLDR; I’m looking for stories of people who had little direction in their 30s, and really turned it around.
Hey all,
I (33M) will make this as much of a not-bummer post as possible.
I live in a hurricane affected area. While I was not materially affected, my work and social situations were shaken up a bit.
Where I would like to be: - Employed - Partnered - Childed - Having a solid friend group locally
Where I find myself: - Unemployed - Single - Childless - Lacking a regular friend group nearby
In short, I have a vision for my life, and none of the pieces seem to be in place for it. The ones I did have seem to have recently been lost to me.
I think it would just be helpful for me brain to hear that somebody was in my shoes and ended up in a better pair. I am primarily looking for people who started that path in their 30s and loving where they are now. Bonus points if you are partnered and with kids.
I recognize I may sound like a choosy beggar here, but I would much prefer anecdotes over advice (though I’m not entirely opposed). I think I’m needing to hear that the typical ad ice actually works, and then you can land somewhere good, even if you waited a bit to start.
Cheers.
