I’ve read so many books over the past few years where the author has ABSURD time frames. Basically every major event is the next day. You’ll read a whole story of incredible events and then put the timeline together and it was over the course of a WEEK!!!
It just irks me. I feel like it adds no value to the story and it would be very easy to add in a few references to time passing.
Especially in romances. I simply cannot believe a great romance has occurred in a matter of days or weeks.
This is also a problem when traveling is involved. You are telling me these people have gone all over the world and also slept and ate sometimes and it’s been three days?
I also read some very well written books but I do enjoy the occasional trashy romantasy. And I’m fine with the lesser writing quality. But super fast timelines are SO unrealistic that it pulls me out of the story.
