In need of some input about living situation. (Idk maybe I’m venting)

4 hours ago 5

I’m 20f, I’m one out of 5. I have one sister who is 28, two more brothers between me and her and a younger brother by just a couple of months making him 19.

It’s been hard saving for a car because everything me and my siblings make goes into the household. My mom is disabled and can’t work and has little to no gov assistance. Out of 5 of us only 3 of us are currently working, we pay $575 each in a 3 bedroom house which my grandma also lives in. We currently have no car and have been taking Ubers to work. I’m the only one that’s been able to save, but also probably the only one who has the drive to be able to want to further my position in life. I’m currently making $23 at a warehouse job and if I can slow down my eating habits I’d have a great amount of disposable money. My goal is to be able to get a car, get healthy, start my sterile processing courses and sometime down the line move out. I would kind of feel bad though because I know at least for a while my car will NEED to be shared. I love my family to death, but living in this house drives me crazy sometimes. I honestly feel a pit in my stomach talking about it, I would hate to leave my family behind in a struggle, a struggle that they also did not choose; but I want to move on. We’re all pretty introverted and homebodies, but I have actual friends, I have ambitions, I want to actually live.

So I guess this is just me venting and looking for a little insight. I’m saving for a car now. And I know people are gonna hate me for this next part but…..I’m looking to finance are car. One very cheap, doesn’t need to be new, I could care less. But with a car I will have more range to do things that could help me reach my goals.

My expenses right now are literally only a couple of things and many of which can be cut out maybe.

Estimated Monthly/set Phone bill: $110 Credit card: range of $200-$300 Rent:$575 Bills: selective but haven’t had to pay any since being the only one saving. Entertainment: about $18 total

Random expenses: Food for house: $500-600 every other month (Only that expensive because we have to have it delivered I guess) My Uber eats spending habit: $400 (sometimes spend on credit card, sometimes spent on debit card.) Hair retwist: $85 every 2-3 months.

Idk, I feel like I need to lock in. After typing all of this I realized I need to actually keep track of my spending habits.

Anyone else have testimonials on moving on and moving out? I genuinely would like to know how you all did it.
